Alongside his popular and already highly impressive opus as a poet, musician, diplomat, sports commentator and bon vivant, the incomparable Jørgen Leth is also behind some of the most innovative contributions to Danish film art. In this brand new portrait, we look back at his life through his films of the past 50 years. From the jazz film 'Stop For Bud' (1963) via his grand oeuvres to collaborations with artists such as Andy Warhol, Torben Ulrich and Lars von Trier. Leth's personal poetry is built on an awareness and gratitude towards what he himself calls the gifts of coincidence, and it is a creative and immensely cheerful Leth who here initiates us into his experienced thoughts on filmmaking. For even if he could have rested on his laurels already several decades ago, Jørgen Leth has the kind of infectious enthusiasm of someone who has just started out making films. The film is produced by Louisiana Channel.
