While the war in Ukraine is rumbling in the background, a single mother and her two children are focusing on their shared passion: making short films together. They reenact scenes from life in the midst of war and involve village locals and patrolling soldiers in the artistic process. Especially the older sister is fascinated by the possibilities the medium presents, and when she gets admitted to film school, she is overjoyed. With the war-torn landscapes of Donbass as a dramatic backdrop, the films not only give their lives light and hope, but also an opportunity to take history into their own hands in the midst of a chaotic situation.
