In 'That Which Does Not Kill', the French director Alexe Poukine manages to created a space where a number of different people can talk openly about the consequences of rape: the pain, the personal boundaries, the defence mechanisms or the lack of them. The intimate firsthand accounts are woven together with a gripping and innovative formal language, which adds important nuances to an often misunderstood taboo.
