Boniface 'Softie' Mwangi is a popular photojournalist, who is known for always being on the spot with his camera when there is turmoil in his native Kenya. A social and likeable human rights activist, who puts himself in danger for the sake of others. But he also has three children together with his patient wife Njeri. When he decides to stand for election in his fight against corruption, his new political plans sow discord between him and Njeri, and force him to make a personal choice between his deep love of his country and his strained family. The Kenyan filmmaker Sam Soko weaves together the two stories into a bigger picture of a country undergoing change.
